The spiritual knowledge

443

Q 4: It is claimed that there are three branches of knowledge revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): First: "The legal knowledge" that was mandatory to convey to people. Second: "The spiritual knowledge" that was optional to convey and he taught to `Aly ibn Abu Talib. Third: "The special knowledge" confined to the Prophet alone that he was ordered to keep secret. Is there any proof that affirms these claims? May Allah reward you with the best.

A: Classifying the (Wahy) revelation sent down to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) into three kinds as mentioned has nothing to do with the Wahy divisions. As for the claim of some people that there is "spiritual knowledge" that was optional to convey and he taught it to `Aly ibn Abu Talib, it is false and has no evidence from the Book of Allah or the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace be upon him).May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and Companions.
