The view of women covering their heads all the time

Q 2: Some Muslim women believe that they must cover their heads all the time finding support in the fact that Jibril (Gabriel) refused to come near the Prophet (peace be upon him) before Khadijah covered her head. Thus, they believe that the head must be covered at all times even in the presence of Mahrams (a male marriageable relative) or their husband or while alone at home. Please, inform us about this. (Part No. 17; Page No. 208) Is it permissible for a woman to take off her clothes in a place other than her bedroom such as her paternal or maternal aunt's home?

A: It is permissible for a woman to uncover her head in the presence of women or Mahrams (male unmarriageable relatives) or if she is alone. The opinion that she has to cover her head in such cases is unsound. However, she has to cover her head as well as all her body, i.e. wear the veil, in the presence of non-Mahrams (male marriageable relatives). May Allah grant us success.
