A:
It is Haram (prohibited) for a Muslim man to
touch the body of a non-Mahram woman as this leads to the spread of Fitnah (temptation) and corruption. A severe warning against doing this has been stated in the authentic Hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Hadith reads:
It is better for one of you to be pierced by a steel pin in his head than to touch a woman marriageable to him.
Al-Mundhiry said:
Al-Tabarany related it in his book Al-Kabir and it is also related by
Al-Bayhaqy The narrators of this Hadith are Thiqah (trustworthy) and are Rijal Al-Sahih (narrators of Hadith compiled by Al-Bukhari and/or Muslim).
