Q 3: It is natural for us as
girls to plait our hair and tie its ends with a decorative ribbon, but we do not intend to extend the length of our hair by this doing. Is this act forbidden,
and is this really considered extending the hair?
A:
If the ribbon does not look like natural hair or the like and it does not (Part No. 4; Page No. 65) seem like a part of the plait itself, it is not forbidden. What is actually forbidden is to use hair extensions that make it look longer or thicker than it really is.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
