Using the Misbahah after Salah

367

Q 6: The follower of the Hanbaly School of Jurisprudence believe that using beads to perform Tasbih (saying: "Subhan Allah [Glory be to Allah]") after Salah (Prayer) is a Bid`ah (innovation in religion), as the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) did not do it; it should be done using the fingers of the right hand. However, the followers of the Maliky School of Jurisprudence believe that it is permissible.

A: It is permissible to count the number of Tasbih using beads, as there is no evidence indicating otherwise. There is no difference between after Salah or any other time. However, it is better to count using the fingers, like what (Part No. 24; Page No. 270) the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to do.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
