Q 2:
When someone helps his son pay the marriage expenses while part of the Mahr (mandatory gift to a bride from her groom) is ill gotten money such as gained from stealing; will it annul the contract?
It is worth mentioning that the person who paid the Mahr is the father of the groom.
A:
If the reality is as you have mentioned, the marriage contract is valid. It is obligatory on the person who stole the money to return it to its owners or their heirs. He must repent and seek forgiveness, and may Allah forgive him. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
