What is the ruling on Muslims who

Q 1: Is it permissible to call a person who appears to us to be a righteous person and then died in the cause of Allah, a martyr?

A: He who is killed in the battlefield fighting against the enemies of Allah while being patient and seeking Allah's reward is a battle martyr. His body should not be washed or shrouded. He should be buried in his clothes. Martyrs other than those killed in the battle are many, such as those who are killed while defending themselves, their family or their property, a person who dies of abdominal disease, a person who dies of plague, a person drowned and the like. These people should be washed and enshrouded. We should also perform the Funeral Prayer for them.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
