Wiping over the hair for women when performing Janabah Ghusl

Q 2: Is it permissible to wipe my hair only when I perform Janabah Ghusl (full ritual bath to cleanse of sexual discharge), as my hair is styled with a hairdryer? It is worth mentioning that I loosen my hair to wash it all when I perform after-menstruation Ghusl (full ritual bath). (Part No. 4; Page No. 140

A: A woman should wash her head when performing Janabah Ghusl by soaking the outer and inner hair. However, she does not have to loosen her hair so as to avoid hardship. It is authentically reported in Sahih Muslim on the authority of Um Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) who asked the Messenger of Allah, 'I have braided hair, do I have to undo it every time I perform Ghusl?' He (peace be upon him) replied, 'Rather, it is sufficient for you to pour water over your head three times, then pour water all over your body, and you will be Tahir (ritually pure).' May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
