A: Writing Ayahs in the form of toys, birds, trees or the like, or on decoration boards or plates, or as (Part No. 3; Page No. 25) a promotion of goods is prohibited. Any person who does this is sinful. This involves disrespecting the Qur'an and making a sport and game of it. This also subjects the Qur'an to desecration and makes it liable to be thrown in inappropriate places once the things on which it is written are worn out after a long period of usage. These things might also be lost on being transferred from one place to another. Actually, Allah (Exalted be He) has not prescribed doing so as an act of worship. Allah (Exalted be He) sent down the Qur'an to be a source of exhortation, guidance, and a cure for inner diseases, and for people to act in accordance with its rulings, believe in it, and recite it during periods of the night and day.
