Q 3: What is the ruling on
delaying the Zhuhr (Noon) Prayer until it is less hot?
Some countries are hot all year; are they permitted to delay the Zhuhr or should they not delay it except if there is an extraordinary rise in temperature, e.g. From 40 °C. To 50°C.?
A:
It is recommended to delay the Zhuhr Prayer when it is too hot until it is cooler, even if this is the case year-round.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
When it is very hot, postpone the Zuhr Prayer until it becomes moderately hot because the severity of heat is of the raging of Hell-fire.
