Salah behind women in case of necessity

Q 2: We call people to perform the Fajr (Dawn) and `Isha' (Night) Prayers, and check on those who do not attend the Salah. Did the Prophet (peace be upon him) do this? Would you please explain, giving the evidence?

A: It is obligatory on Muslims to advise each other, to cooperate in righteousness and Taqwa (fear/wariness of offending Allah), and to enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil. To do so, Muslims are required to check on their fellow Muslims, not to spy on them, but to visit them if they are ill, advice them of what is beneficial or help them avoid what is harmful, help them to get what is in their best interest or to avoid difficulties and harm, enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil, etc., and checking on those who perform Salah is one of the things a Muslim should do. It was narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) checked on the Muslims during Fajr Prayer, as he said, "Have you seen so-and-so? Have you seen so-and-so?" May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and his Companions!
