Q:
When I come across one of Ayat-ul-Sujud (Qur'anic verses of Prostration) while offering Salah (Prayer), should I say the Takbir ("Allahu Akbar [Allah is the Greatest]") and then prostrate or prostrate without saying the Takbir?
Should I say the Takbir also when I stand up from Sujud (prostration) or just continue with the recitation without saying the Takbir?

It is permissible for someone, when they are offering Salah individually or leading a Salah, if they come across one of Ayat-ul-Sujud, to say the Takbir and prostrate for Sujud-ul-Tilawah (Prostration of Recitation). They should then say the Takbir again when they stand up, because the Takbir should be said whenever standing up or going into Ruku` (bowing) or Sujud. However, if the person who is reciting is not praying and comes across one of Ayat-ul-Sujud, it is permissible for them to say the Takbir and prostrate, but it is not permitted for them to say the Takbir or Taslim (salutation of peace ending the Prayer) after prostrating because there is no evidence for this.May Allah give us success!
