A:
It is not permissible for the father to
go out to the Masjid for Salah leaving his two sons at home without praying in congregation. Rather, he should awaken and order them to pray. He may also order their mother or anyone else to awaken them if he goes out early. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
Command your children to pray when they are seven years old and beat them for (neglecting) it when they are ten years old, and do not let (boys and girls) sleep together.
He (peace be upon him) also said:
All of you are guardians and are responsible for your subjects. The ruler is a guardian and is responsible for (Part No. 5; Page No. 34) his subjects; the man is a guardian and is responsible for his subjects (family).
