A: It is Haram (prohibited) to keep pictures and statues at home, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him) to ‘Aly (may Allah be pleased with him): “Do not leave any image without blotting it out or a prominent grave without leveling it.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) also said: “Angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture.” It is Makruh (disliked) to offer Salah in a room that contains hanged or erected pictures, especially if they are hung in the direction of the Qiblah (direction faced for Prayer towards the Ka‘bah). However, the Salah is considered valid.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
