Ruling on burying the dead at nightfall

701

Q 8: What is the ruling on burying the dead at nightfall?

A: It is not permissible to bury the dead at sunrise, sunset or when the sun reaches its meridian. `Uqbah ibn `Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) stated: There are three hours during which the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade us to pray or bury our dead: When the sun begins to rise until it is fully up, when the sun is at its height at midday until it passes the meridian, and when the sun inclines to setting until (Part No. 7; Page No. 309) it sets. (Related by Muslim) May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
