Ruling on combining Salahs on the part of a disabled student

567

Q: I am a disabled student who goes to school before noon. Zhuhr (Noon) Prayer becomes due while I am in class and I cannot perform Salah (Prayer) at school because (Part No. 7; Page No. 33) of an apparatus that limits my movement. I leave school at the end of the academic day after `Asr (Afternoon) Prayer. After I go home, I offer Zhuhr and `Asr Prayers consecutively. Is it permissible to do so?

A: You must offer Zhuhr Prayer at its due time if at all possible. Allah (Exalted be He) says: So keep your duty to Allâh and fear Him as much as you can He (Exalted be He) also says: Allâh burdens not a person beyond his scope. However, if you cannot offer Salah at your workplace and cannot leave until after `Asr Prayer is due, you should intend to combine Zhuhr and `Asr Prayers at the time of the later after you leave.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
