Salah of an anesthetized person

548

Q 8: I know that a person who loses consciousness normally does not have to make up for a missed Salah (Prayer) if its time has elapsed. Is a person who loses consciousness as a result of undergoing a surgical operation required to make up for the Salah they missed?

A: A person who loses consciousness due to being anesthetized while undergoing a surgical operation holds the same ruling as a person who faints due to suffering from a certain ailment. They are required to make up for the Salah they missed once they regain consciousness, whether it is regained at the appointed time of Salah or after (Part No. 8; Page No. 78) its appointed time has elapsed.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
